Today was kind of a dud as far as wheeling is concerned. But after such a log day yesterday, it was nice to have a late start and the rainy day gave us a little break.
Hell’s Revenge
We tried to wheel Hell’s Revenge (again) today and it’s major obstacles, but it started to rain and hail about halfway in, so we turned around. So Hell’s Revenge gets postponed again to a later day…
Downtown Moab
Since it literally rained on our parade, we went into Downtown Moab and hit the gift shops around town. Of course, I bought a few Moab stickers for my sticker collection.
Wrenching
Thanks to the rainy day, we were also able to get some slight wrenching done. Yovan had to change the starter on his LJ. He had been push starting it this whole time. Zevastyan had to change his differential oil and axle seals. I had to find an annoying noise Rajah was making (right now we think it was just the inner fender banging around). Simon’s Jeep overheated yesterday at the trailhead of Poison Spyder Mesa, busted a fan and a hose. He had a lot of work to do as well and even had to drive two hours to the closest Jeep dealership to buy a part to fix it. We were able to get all these issues fixed on this rainy day so we can wheel to the max tomorrow.
Sunset Grill
We had a group dinner at Sunset Grill to regroup and have a relaxing night. We ended up popping a few bottles of champagne and toasting to Niko and Vicky on their new marriage. The view from the restaurant was amazing, since it is on top of a rock in town, and we were able to see the perfect sunset from there.
