The opportunity of a LIFETIME was presented to me when the producer of a show called Off the Beaten Path emailed me, and wanted to feature an authentic Jeep adventure episode.

About the Show

Alhurra is a United States based and funded public Arabic-language TV channel that broadcasts news and current affairs programming to audiences in the Middle East and North Africa.

The show, Off the Beaten Path, showcases American pastimes and lifestyles to the Arabic speaking countries of the world.

In this episode, my family and I were interviewed and we went on an overlanding adventure in Ocala National Forest where we did the newly minted Jeep Badge of Honor trail, 4WD Way.

The show also featured Wheats Off-Road, an offroad shop based out of Indiana. They went on a rock crawling adventure in Jellico, TN (in the snow)!

About 4WD Way in Ocala National Forest

Tread Lightly! 4WD Way is the first trail in Florida to be named a Badge of Honor trail by Jeep. The Tread Lightly! Four Wheel Drive Way is an 81-mile system of Forest Service roads available for licensed off-road vehicles, such as Jeeps, pickup trucks and high-clearance SUVs only. The trail system is named after the Tread Lightly principles.

The trail includes a lot of narrow portions where “pinstriping” your paint will happen. There are roads covered in sand, and makes offroading a lot of fun if you are a beginner.

Check out the episode below! While the introduction and other portions are in Arabic, the parts highlighting us are in English (with Arabic subtitles).
