It is August and the back to school excitement (or dread) is in full swing. This Saturday, a local shop from Miami hosted a “Karnage and Coffee” meet up to collect school supply donations and raffle off some free labor certificates, among other items.
A clever play on the Cars and Coffee events nationwide, Karnage Motorsports hosted Karnage and Coffee in the same fashion: a morning gathering in an attempt to beat the heat (which proved impossible), at a local Hispanic bakery shop with breakfast options. It was quite a showing of Jeeps for this parking lot in Pembroke Pines, and the line to grab some classic Hispanic breakfast at Vicky Bakery was out the door all morning.
It was evident this morning that the community built by Karnage Motorsports is thriving. Some even traveled from over an hour away to come show support for Karnage while also raising money for school supply donations. If you are in the South Florida area and are looking for a shop that does more than just installations and parts sales, Karnage Motorsports is the place to go. On any given day, you can find Karnage customers just hanging out at the shop, killing their lunch breaks, just passing by because they were in the area, or bearing gifts of Cuban “cafecito”. Karnage and Coffee was just a peek into what the Karnage family is all about.
Those who didn’t carry cash (like me) had no excuse not to donate, as Karnage also welcomed donations or raffle ticket purchases by popular money transfer apps like CashApp and Venmo. The raffle included items like recovery gear and T-shirts from MileMarker, a custom powdercoated tumbler, and several $250 gift certificates to be used towards labor at Karnage Motorsports (lucky winners!).
Karnage Motorsports collected over $500 from raffle ticket donations in just a short two hours! And on top of that, many brought supplies to donate as well. These items and monetary donations will be sent to The Education Fund to help ensure that every child learns and succeeds in Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
Hoping everybody has an easy and safe start to the new school year! May the traffic patterns be ever in your favor.
