Jeeptoberfest is around the corner, and many are already pre-registered for this popular Florida wheeling event. Jeeptoberfest, however, is more of a one day event that can be turned into a weekend of fun. Here is how to make the most out of your Jeeptoberfest weekend in Ocala and the surrounding areas.
Pre-Register!
First and foremost, pre-register for Jeeptoberfest. Pre-registration for Jeeptoberfest is open until October 12th. If you plan on doing the obstacle course at the event, you should pre-register ahead of time. Registering on site can put you in a very long, cash only line. Plus, you save $20 by pre-registering at the price of $50 instead of the gate price of $70.
Go Pumpkin Patching
It is that time of the year where everyone is pumpkin and apple picking, and taking cute fall photos. If you have some downtime after or before the event, visit Timberline Farm’s Fall Festival nearby for the pumpkin patches, corn maze, and hay rides.
Visit A Nearby Theme Park
Florida is a big theme park destination and if you are already traveling a bit to get to Jeeptoberfest, you might as well couple in a theme park as well. Since Jeeptoberfest is somewhat of a small event and can be done in one day, you can make plans to go to a theme park the other day. There’s also a lot of Fall and Halloween themed events at the parks!
- Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween at Disney’s Magic Kingdom
- Food and Wine Festival at Disney’s Epcot
- Halloween Horror Nights at Orlando’s Universal Studios
- Howl-o-scream at Busch Gardens in Tampa
Offroad at Hard Rock Offroad Park
Hard Rock is probably the most popular offroad park in Florida, and it’s only about 30 minutes north of the Jeeptoberfest event. Take advantage and get some more wheeling time at this park when you are done with the Jeeptoberfest obstacle course and vendor visits!
Go to a Florida Natural Spring
There are a lot of natural springs and parks in the surrounding areas of Jeeptoberfest. These are BEAUTIFUL clear water springs that are a result of the water coming up from underground. Here are a few places you can explore:
Trail Riding at Ocala National Forest
Ocala National Forest is about a 30 minute drive away and has a lot of dirt roads that are perfect for a stock Jeep that wants to get out and explore more. You can also camp here overnight if you want to take advantage of the cooling Florida weather and save on a hotel.
Rajah has come a long way since that picture was taken. Thanks for the advice! I’ll use it.
